MEGA-DOME!

Ola!! the class on friday begins with slideshows of the raft testing which was a total failure for my team 'SSR BAMBOOISTIC'...but hey my pic is in the slideshow..wehoo! Then mr WanB starts the conversation on the theories on 2012 ie the gaia theory,doomsday and others.A few blogs were chosen to be readed out loud during class..Mine was the last to be chosen 'ALAMAK!'...

Then mr WanB briefed us on our next assignment which is a MEGA-dome.All students are involved in this construction.The bamboos are placed at the site which is the rumpun buluh site or shall I say the site that 1B got attacked by a cow...The dome will be 16m in diameter.I signed myself in section 4 part C.So my measurement for each bamboo is 2.503.I have to cut 2 bamboos.

this is my 1st visit to the jewish cemetery..I never know that a jewish cemetery exist in Penang...










This is my monument...

It will be made up of bamboo of diff sizes,shapes and colours erected in many angle which is possible.This is because the bamboo erected in scattered arrangement is to picture how catastrophic the event of 2012 is.

Theres also a plate bearing the words '2012 MEMORIAL...MAY THE SOULS LOST R.I.P
This is to remember the victims of the event.

On the right side of the plate,theres a hole fit enough to squeeze in a capsule.This hole is called the 'time machine'.Anybody can put a message 4 someone,hopes 4 the country basically anything inside this time machine.Then every year,a few will be selected and be readed out loud,when its 21st DECEMBER 20XX....



so,i guess thats it 4 the FUTURA!

I hope that one day...I can contribute to the society,maybe the time has come 21st DECEMBER 2012..doomsday..is this true??well lets just prepare 4 the worst..

So I decided to help designing the IBU and the PONDOKs for people to go on board during the disaster.The previous inventions maybe can go on board the IBU and PONDOKs or used as a material to build it.So i hope that i can make it 4 real,in that way i can contribute to the society...

LOOKING BACK....

well...looking back what I've done in HBP aka our next assignment..I still remember that this BLOG is our 1st assignment which is my virtual home.Then theres the survival kit thingy which requires us to write about the assigned invention of previous USM researchers.Mine was 'e-faraid'.

Then,theres the dots&lines assigned by Ar Najib.Well it is a good try 4 me though...




Then theres the natural structure of a bamboo.We gathered around the rumpun buluh site and made our way up.There I remembered Mr WanB fell when chased by a cow.He was lucky that he survived...Then we find our own bamboo cluster and start sketching the bamboo...



Then theres the ORIENTATION WEEK =.=' no comments!

so far this is what I've been doing in HBP....it is a great experience which i'll never 4get..I've learned that in order to be successful,we need to be patient and hardworking! till next time...ciao!!!!

AFTER 2 WEEKS OF BREAK......

After 2 weeks of break,its time for studio...The studio starts when 1b showed us a video titled 'THE PROPHECY'.It is about an issue that is debated by the whole world right now which is 21st DECEMBER 2012.Is it the end of the world...?? Well,there's many theories regarding this.Some say that it is the end of the world,some say that the earth will heal itself.According to 'THE PROPHECY' the earth will be in a line with the dark rift and some kind of vibrations will be transmitted to our earth.A new type of human is born..err,I guess...it states that we have to unite in order to clean the earth...Then DR MASTURA JAAFAR lectured us about group work.


Then its Dr Ilias's turn.He said that we should not 4get of our main purpose of coming here,respect others n other stuff.Then theres a 3-part assignment.

SURVIVAL KIT ON IBU(INTER-PONDOK BASTIONARY UNIT)

We were asked to design a SURVIVAL KIT to go with the IBU.As you know clothes are important to us and we need it everyday.Surely we dont want our clothes to get smelly or dirty.Thats why we need to wash it and then dry it.Drying the clothes its quite a difficult thing to do as the space inside the PONDOK is limited. So I decided to choose on one research which is the HEAT PUMPED ASSISTED CLOTHES DRYER.This is just a rough sketch of it...


This HEAT PUMPED ASSISTED CLOTHES DRYER helps you to dry your clothes without any wrinkles.Not
only it dries your clothes but it helps to cool down down the room.It operates using a two way system which is open and close system.In an open system,it dries your clothes and cool down the IBU at the same time.On the other hand,the close system helps you to dry your clothes faster.You might wonder where the electricity come from.Well,at the roof of the IBU theres a solar panel which captures the energy of the sun and turns it into electrical energy.Lets say that it rained for few days and theres no electricity cause theres no sunlight.Dont worry cause theres a propeller beneath the base of the IBU which generates electricity when it spins.So the IBU acts as a centre for drying your clothes.The IBU not only help to dry our clothes during disaster period but it helps us to achieve thermal comfort.This facility is accessible to all the residents in the PONDOK and its for free.The HPAD has an exhaust fan attach to it which prevent it from overheating and thus preventing it from burning.Your clothes will also smell nice as it is equipped with air ambience which makes it smell nice.
